Here at NSE, nothing excites us more than showing what we do to the world, and what better way than the Insomnia Gaming Festival? From roaring commentary shouts echoing from hall to hall, to the visceral atmosphere of a live audience, our BUEC Spring Finals for 2023 exceeded all expectations. This video highlights just a small portion of what made this event so special. We hope you enjoy.
A great show doesn’t come without its fair share of hard work. Within the NSE section, our partners in Monster Energy, Intel and Pringles each had their own showings. From Thursday to Friday morning, the teams started to put together their behind-the-scenes broadcast, practice room, stand and stage areas. Here’s a little peek at how they turned out!
Pringles:
Alongside our stage activities, our partners over at Pringles lead the charge running VALORANT competitions across the weekend, supported by some of our NSE Admin team. Ozone, Cake, Macphet and Seq were our A-team working hard to make this, amongst other great things happen.

Intel:
With a top-of-the-range sim racing rig, retro arcade games and gorgeous PC builds featuring their newest Intel ARC-powered computer systems, the Intel booth was certainly a popular one.
We'd also like to thank Intel for providing their Intel NUC systems which we made full use of across our BUEC finals powered by Intel Arc. The great small form factor of the Intel NUCs allowed players to warm up in a separate area to the stage and then bring with them the same Intel NUC so they already had all their settings configured for smoother transitions in comparison to a big bulky PC or having to mess around on stage for longer.

Monster Energy:
We had a great deal of fun watching the Monster Energy booth come to life as more people started to flood the venue floors as the weekend went on. They showcased themselves with an awesome Monster Energy branded pickup truck, an in-house barbers and a variety of retro classic titles. Oh... and plenty of crates of Monster Energy to give away, including some neatly stowed away in the NSE stand's Monster Energy mini-fridge!
The doors opened for the first early entrants on Friday morning as we prepared for our BUEC VALORANT and Rocket League Finals. Each of the two titles gathered some of the biggest crowds we saw across the whole weekend, and some of the greatest captured moments too. During the day, we got to speak with some of our fantastic NSE community and watch the action live on stage.

After our first day of BUEC Competition had wrapped up, there was only one thing in mind for the Insomnia regulars. The Insomnia 70 Pub Quiz provided great fun and atmosphere after a rewarding day of hard work. It also proved that the general knowledge of the NSE team, outside of Esports and Games left something to be desired.
Onto Saturday! Here, we played out our BUEC Rainbow 6 Siege and League of Legends Finals- two of the most passionate communities we shared time with across the weekend. This proved to be the busiest day of the weekend with a buzzing atmosphere across the whole venue, giving us ample opportunities to connect with many more of you. Against all odds, Exeter University won both Finals, crafting one of the greatest storylines for an individual university we've seen in recent times.

Sunday had a bit of everything. Splatoon 3, CS:GO and Overwatch 2. Three very different titles offering very different experiences to spectators across the day. Our talented Overwatch 2 victors in the Portsmouth Paladins also saw success in the main Insomnia iSeries competition, taking on some of the top seeds from around the country and making it as far as the semi-finals. Although our vocal performances aren’t worthy of mention, there was a long stint of unforgettable Karaoke late into the night and morning to round up a weekend of fun.
