Welcome to the homepage for the UFG, the first ever UK university fighting game league! Partnering with NSE and featuring multiple games, we aim to produce a competitive online environment for university students in the UK, to allow for the development of the scene and its players as a combined body. We also encourage content production, discussion, and a nationwide community of like-minded competitors. We will be using this page for all UFG related news, and to host the official league tables for each game of the season!
In 2018, we launched our Discord community (now over 550 members!), and began running online events for Street Fighter V, Dragon Ball Fighter Z, Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat, Smash Ultimate, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, Under Night In-Birth and more. At the beginning of 2019, we hosted our first multi-game Winter Season split, complete with prizes. We’ve since gone on to host many more Seasons of competition, fostering storylines and connections within the University Fighting Game Community.
2021 Summer Season
Our Summer Season welcomes the newly released Guilty Gear Strive, alongside the returning Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V! We’re excited to see new developments and new rivalries in a completely new environment, so make sure to sign up!
Tournaments begin week commencing 5th July.

SIGNING UP TO UFG TOURNAMENTS
- If you don’t have an NSE account, sign up with your University email and complete the verification process. If your profile doesn’t register you as a student when it should, contact @hench#2483 or email support@nse.gg.
- Head to the UFG Homepage at https://nse.gg/tournaments/ufg-winter-2020/ then select the game(s) you’re entering and click Register. This will enter you into the NSE system. Make sure to use the same Discord account for the UFG Discord and NSE signups!
- Each week, a bracket will be hosted to run the tournament from - whether it is on NSE or Challonge will be confirmed soon. In case of Challonge use, please register an account here: https://challonge.com/
- Keep an eye out for the weekly post releasing the bracket, and sign up to the weekly tournaments there!
