NSE Patch Notes 5.0

With the British University Esports Championship (BUEC) winter sign-ups in full swing, here’s a rundown of what we’ve updated for the upcoming season in the championship and on the website.

Tournament Changes:

• New Championship Titles
  We've added MultiVersus & Mario Strikers to our roster of titles in the championship. Make sure to go grab a role in #get-role in our Discord to be pinged with all relevant info!

• Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
  
  • There is going to be one online smash cup this season 👀.
  • Smash tournaments will be using the EU Ruleset.
    

• VALORANT
  We are now using the most up-to-date VALORANT competitive map pool.
  
  
• Teamfight Tactics
  Teamfight Tactics cups have been removed and replaced with a 5 week league system.
  
  
• Overwatch
  Overwatch has been replaced with Overwatch 2.
  
  
• Rainbow 6 Siege
  Players will now have the opportunity to qualify for UKIN through NSE.

• Affiliate Leagues
  We've partnered with University Call of Duty & UK University Pokemon Unite to help them run tournaments this season.
  
  
• Women & Non-Binary Cups
  We will now be running dedicated Women & Non-Binary only cups that will also award BUEC points.

Website Updates:

• Code Of Conduct
  Players are required to confirm the code of conduct each year.

• Freelance Opportunities
  Looking for freelance opportunities? We're looking for graphic designers, video editors and any creatives to register their details on the NSE creative freelance directory for us to use for future events and projects. Find more info here.
  
  
• Community Activity
  The community activity page now displays tournaments and events separately so if you click on a tournament it will take you directly to the tournament page to sign up.

• Resources - Offers & Opportunities
  We have added an Offers & Opportunities tab to our resources page on our website that outlines everything NSE have to offer to students.
  
  
• EPIC.LAN Broadcast Directory
  We're looking for casters, observers and hosts to register their details on the NSE & EPIC.LAN broadcast directory! Find more info here.
  
  
• Genshin Impact Hub
  We have a brand new area for dedicated Genshin Impact content on our website, aside from this it has all the info you need to run your own Genshin Impact event at your university in the downloadable event pack. The pack contains information on the kind of support you'll receive from NSE and Hoyoverse like event cash, incentives for participants, official merch drops and how to run tournaments. • Team Data Storage
  We've introduced a new system for how team data is stored on our website which significantly speeds up the load time.
