Summary

Splatoon 3 - University Championship Online Qualifier is split into 2 main stages: Stage 1 Qualification (Weeks 1-4) and Stage 2 Live Finals

Stage 1 - Qualification

Teams will play 3 matches a week and the tournament will use a modified Swiss format. After the first 4 weeks the top two teams will be invited to the Live Finals.

Stage 2 - Live Finals @ Insomnia Gaming Festival

The two top teams from Stage 1 and the one team from each of the Regional Events will compete at the Live Finals. This will include travel and accommodation.

 

Online Qualifier Prizes

1st - i70 Weekend Ticket, including travel and accommodation

2nd - i70 Weekend Ticket, including travel and accommodation

 

Prizes for the Live Finals

In addition to other prizes this tournament awards British University Esports Championship Points.

RULES SUMMARY

  • All players must be current students from the same university. 
  • Teams must have at least 4 players. Teams may add/remove players from team between weeks.
  • If teams are more than 20 minutes late they will forfeit a match.
  • Check-in deadline is 6:30pm. Teams who don't check-in will not get games for that evening.
  • Offensive Account and Team names are not allowed.
  • Verbal abuse is not allowed. In particular any use of racist, sexist, homophobic or any other discriminatory language will lead to a minimum 3-week suspension.

Game Mode and Map Selection

All games will be best of 5. The game modes will be played in the order of the weekly mode rotation. Turf War will always be the first game mode, and will be played as an isolated best of 3, within the best of 5 match. The other four game modes will rotate each week, with the final mode being the second mode of the following week. The home team will select the map to play in the first game. In subsequent games, the loser of the previous map chooses the next map.

All decisions regarding the interpretation and enforcement of these rules are at the sole discretion of the NSE Admin Team, whose decisions are final.
These rules may be amended, changed or supplemented when required by the NSE Admin Team to ensure fair play and competitive integrity.

Live Finals @ Insomnia Gaming Festival

All games, except from the Live Finals at Insomnia Gaming Festival, will be played on Monday evening and cannot be rearranged. Games will have a normal start time of 7.15pm.
