Announcing the USL Winter Season

Today USL is proud to announce the new home of the USL Winter Season. From October we’ll be using NSE’s platform to handle sign ups, content, and manage the tournament. The move to NSE will allow the continuation of USL’s main objective of offering a free and enjoyable way for university students to experience Rainbow Six: Siege.

After two years and four seasons of delivering high quality games for all of our players it’s time for us to make the next step. to evolve and reach more students whilst allowing for a more robust league structure, the next logical step is for USL to join forces with NSE. Moving to NSE’s platform will bring long anticipated changes to make the league more attractive to players, whilst the integration of amazing partners such as Intel, Monster, and ESL, will ensure the league is seen as a legitimate starting point for those seeking to play or work within global esports.

What does this mean for USL players?

- Teams can earn British University Esports Championship (BUEC) points for their universities.

- Live LAN finals for both Winter & Spring .

- Travel and accommodation for all finals players and production staff.

- Prizes for the Top 3 teams and high quality BUEC medals for the winners.

- ESL Winter Premiership Finals tickets for the top 6 teams.

- Exciting content such as: game recaps, player interviews, stream highlights published through NSE’s platform.

- Community Siege events such as 10 mans.

For the Spring 2019 season, USL switched from mixed teams to only allowing teams comprised of players from the same university in order to foster a greater sense of inter-university competitive spirit, as well as ensuring a fairer system of play. During the Spring season the league attracted 39 individual universities represented across 49 teams and 296 students. Looking to the future, USL’s goal for university sign up in 2019/2020 are to attract 60+ teams and over 350 students, this expansion will be driven by the additional exposure gained by joining NSE and through NSE’s partners.

Sign ups for USL Winter start on 23rd September and close on 15th October. The season will begin on the 17th October. We’ll have more to announce over the weeks and coming months, so make sure you follow us on https://twitter.com/USL_R6 for further updates.
