Community Events: March Schedule

Five events are lined up including Animal Crossing, League of Legends, Rocket League and a discussion for the Women and Non-Binary members of the university esports community.

Animal Crossing - Interior Design

Starts: Tuesday 1st March
Ends: Sunday 27th March, 11:59pm GMT

Open to: Students and alumni

A unique challenge approaches this month, as we have an Animal Crossing interior design competition coming up. Open to both students and alumni, you will have the whole month to polish your house up and submit your dream codes to us by Sunday the 27th of March. These houses will be judged by a full-time professional interior designer (Mrs Hibbo).

Prizes:

• 1st place: £25 Nintendo eshop card
• 2nd place: £15 Nintendo eshop card

International Women's Day: University Esports Discussion

When: Tuesday 8th March, 5-6pm GMT

Open to: Women & Non-Binary students

Join us for a casual drop-in chat in the W&NB UK University Discord on international women's day where you can talk with us and with each other about questions, issues, or challenges you've faced (or are concerned to face) in the esports industry and the student community. 

Topics may include:

• How do you feel about career opportunities in esports/gaming
• Playing opportunities (both casually and competitively)
• How you feel about the general uni esports community, and if you feel that you're being treated right or welcomed
• Challenges you've faced, areas where more could be done, and what could help you

Rocket League 1v1 Cup

When: Sunday 20th March, 5pm GMT

Open to: Students and alumni

Rocket League Spring 1v1 Cup will be one-shot tournament played from 5pm on Sunday 20th of March

The tournament will consist of a Bo3 Group Stage leading into Bo5 Single Elimination Play-Offs. (The format may change depending on the number of sign-ups)

Prize:

• 1st place: £20
• 2nd place: £10

Women and Non-Binary: League of Legends Newbie Night

When: Monday 21st March, 7pm GMT

Open to: Women & Non-Binary students

If you've been thinking about getting into League but don't know how to start (maybe after watching Arcane), then mosey on over to the Women & Non-Binary newbie night! We want to encourage brand new and inexperienced players to play with others around their skill level and also a few experienced guides to help show you the ropes.

Come and get involved in another League of Legends 1v1 tournament!

The format is as follows:

• Howling Abyss
• Blind pick
• First blood/First tower/First to 50cs wins.
