Once again we are joining forces with Amazon University Esports to send over our best players to represent the UK in the UEM European Series. This tournament consists of teams from 16 countries coming together to determine who the best university teams in Europe are. The tournament consists of League of Legends, TFT, Clash Royale, and Rocket League. We are happy to announce that we'll be a part of the chain for selecting the UK's representatives for LoL and TFT!
For League of Legends, there are two stages to the tournament, a group stage and a playoff stage. Two UK teams will enter the group stage to play for their chance to advance to the playoff stage, where they will meet the 3rd UK team. The first of the group stage teams is the winner of our winter split, Grey Warwick from the University of Warwick! They will be joined in the group stage by the winner of our friends over at The NUEL's winter split, Bristol Warriors from Bristol University's COGS. As for the 3rd UK representative who will advance straight the the group stages, the winner of our spring finals will fight the winner of The NUEL's spring finals, and the winner of that match will be chosen to be our third LoL representative.
But we're not only sending LoL players, we'll also be sending the UK's TFT representative, Zomimi from the University of Portsmouth! Zomimi earned his spot by winning our March TFT cup, and we're excited to see how he fares in the convergence later this year.
UEM starts up this Saturday the 19th of March, and for more info on the scheduling and matches, you can follow the tournament on twitter over at @uemasters!
