Summary

2XKO Nottingham Knockout is a tournament happening at the BUEC 2026 Spring finals at Confetti X in Nottingham on April 18th. This qualifier is an additional tournament to give student and alumni the chance to win travel to the live event to compete in person. To signup to the main event please use this link.


Tournament Format
Online qualifier is a double elimination tournament open to solos or duos. All matches will be played on Saturday 28th March.

Prizes
Top 8 - Travel support for 2 players to attend NSE finals (£75 per player) Solo players who qualify will have option to bring a friend.

Team Signup
If you wish to play as a duo please signup both players separately to the event then fill out this form. Players on a team do not need to attend same university.

Alumni Signup

Played in NSE before?
If you already have an NSE account from when you were playing in BUEC, you should have an alumni account. If your NSE account is still using your student email, we ask that you add your personal email into the "Additional recover email address" box.

Not played in an NSE tournament before?
No worries - you can make an account and then fill in the form here with verification to prove your university alumni status. If you’re having trouble, please email alumni@nse.gg. Some examples of what you can use as proof: degree certificate, student card, screenshot of student finance etc.

Signup rules

  • All players must be current students or alumni.
  • Check-in deadline is 1.30pm. Players who don't check-in will be automatically dropped from the tournament.
  • Teams must have at least 1 player. Solos and duos are allowed.
  • Teams are expected to arrive promptly for all games. If a team is more than 15 minutes late for the start of the game they will not be included in that game.
  • Offensive ingame names are not allowed. 
  • Verbal abuse is not allowed. In particular any use of racist, sexist, homophobic or any other discriminatory language will be suspended for the remainder of the season (minimum of 3 weeks, carried over to the following season).

Game Rules

  • All games should be played with default settings (FT2 rounds). 
  • Sets are First to 3 (FT3), unless specified otherwise.
  • After winning a game players may not change champions for the next game, the losing team may switch champions. 
  • Players are required to host private lobbies to play matches

All decisions regarding the interpretation and enforcement of these rules are at the sole discretion of the NSE Admin Team, whose decisions are final.
These rules may be amended, changed or supplemented when required by the NSE Admin Team to ensure fair play and competitive integrity.

Prize Terms and conditions

Eligibility
The Travel Award Prize is available to teams consisting of up to two (2) players who have qualified or been selected to attend the specified tournament event.

Prize Value
The total prize value is £150 per team, allocated as £75 per player.

Attendance Requirement
The Travel Award is only redeemable if the player(s) attend the tournament event in person. Failure to attend will result in forfeiture of the relevant portion of the award.

Solo Qualification
If a player qualifies individually (solo), they may choose the second player to attend event to receive the second £75 allocation, subject to approval by the NSE admin team.

Player Replacement
If a player is unable to attend, they may nominate a replacement player. All replacement players must be approved by the event organiser in advance of the event.

Partial Attendance

    • If only one (1) player from a team attends the event, only £75 will be awarded to the attending player.

    • The non-attending player’s portion (£75) will be forfeited unless a replacement player has been approved in accordance with Clause 4.

Transfer of Prize
Where a replacement player has been approved, the £75 allocation may be transferred to that replacement player, provided they attend the event.

Non-Attendance
If neither player (or any approved replacements) attends the event, the full £150 Travel Award will be forfeited.

Non-Exchangeable
The Travel Award is non-transferable except as outlined above, and cannot be exchanged for cash alternatives beyond the stated amounts.

Organiser’s Discretion
The NSE admin team reserves the right to verify attendance and eligibility, and to withhold or reclaim the award in cases of non-compliance with these terms.
